little victories
i am a full believer in celebrating the little victories in life. this is especially important when one fails as often as i do…
for example, today i took one of the peer education surveys in order to get some free cotton candy (delicious). during that survey i lied significantly about how much i drink, how many drinks i drink, and the biggest lie, how often i black out. despite all of these significant oversights the woman still told me that i have a medium risk factor (whatever the hell that means). despite this peer education fail, i was able to truthfully check off that i have never woken up in the morning and felt like i needed an alcoholic beverage to start off my day. SUCCESS. it is important to not belittle such success with the seemingly larger failure, acknowledge it, embrace it, and celebrate it (perhaps with some sort of toast involving the alcoholic beverage of your choice)keep an eye out for the little victories and celebrate them to the fullest.
(btw im not a raging alcoholic that survey was just super dramatic… good thing the cotton candy was delicious)
